The WCDC Board of Directors are committed to the goals of WCDC, working on committees, and lending their time and support of the revitalization of Wilkinsburg. In addition, WCDC has a full-time staff that work with volunteers, supporters, businesses, and the community to bring projects to life and focus on community needs.

The WCDC moved into a centrally-located office at 1001 Wood Street in June 2010. Our office serves as a one-stop resource of business, developer, and community information.

A few improvements WCDC has made in the Wilkinsburg community include:

  • Working with the Nine Mile Watershed Association to plant 500 new trees in Wilkinsburg
  • Creating a website for property owners to list real estate in Wilkinsburg
  • Providing Street Banners for Marketing Opportunities for Businesses
  • Providing Wilkinsburg businesses with a Small Business Workshop
  • Supporting Youth Programs through mini-grants
  • Establishing the Business District Safety Initiative
  • Installing 44 new litter receptacles to make Wilkinsburg a cleaner place to live
  • Refurbishing 63 decorative lampposts
  • Upgrading traffic light signals to make Wilkinsburg a safer place to live

The WCDC remains dedicated to promoting the revitalization of Wilkinsburg and surrounding areas through business and residential development, organizational and individual civic leadership, and cultural enrichment.

We encourage the community to get involved.
